Zeeco employees no longer have to leave the office for a doctor’s visit. Their employer hired Tulsa, Okla.-based Care ATC to create an on-site physician’s clinic.

The clinic, located on Zeeco’s campus at 22151 E. 91st St., opened its doors Oct. 1 to all employees and dependents covered by Zeeco’s health plan, which is more than 500 individual participants.

“This is an incredible benefit to our employees and their families,” said Darton Zink, CEO of Zeeco. “This is a more feasible and cost-effective way for them to participate in annual exams or to see a doctor during the cold, flu and allergy seasons. We want our employees to be as happy and healthy as possible.”

The 1,000-square-foot clinic, equipped, staffed and managed by Care ATC, features a medical exam room and a lab. Care ATC provides Zeeco employees with a doctor and a nurse during scheduled hours each week. When employees use the clinic, they do not pay a deductible or co-pay. The service is completely free and is offered in addition to the employee’s regular health benefits.

The clinic offers long-term preventive measures such as annual exams, while giving acute care such as visits for cold symptoms or other illnesses. This means health concerns can be addressed throughout the year, which helps prevents severe medical problems that may not have been foreseen otherwise.

“At Care ATC, our goal is to help companies improve the health of their entire staff,” said Paul Keeling, Care ATC’s director of sales. “In addition, employers begin to see lowered health-care costs, less sick days and happier employees.”

Keeling said companies using Care ATC’s services see both short-term and long-term savings. The average Care ATC client who has used this service for five years enjoys health-care costs below what they were the year before opening clinics, he said, including the cost of Care ATC services.
