XML Master Professional Test-Takers Cite Benefits of Cert

The XML Technology Certification Committee recently released the results of an online survey administered to individuals who obtained the &ldquo;XML Master Professional&rdquo; certification, a higher-level certification in the XML Master program.<br /><br />The survey was conducted between April 10 and 21, among individuals who passed the latest version of the &ldquo;XML Master Professional&rdquo; certification examination. Sixty-eight individuals responded to the survey.<br /><br />Regarding the survey results, for the question regarding the benefits of obtaining the &ldquo;XML Master Professional&rdquo; certification (multiple responses possible), 90 percent selected the response, &ldquo;I gained knowledge regarding XML and XML-related technology;&rdquo; 65 percent selected the response, &ldquo;It helped me build confidence in my knowledge about XML and XML-related technology;&rdquo; 31 percent selected the response, &ldquo;I received a bonus from my company;&rdquo; 29 percent selected the response, &ldquo;I received a higher evaluation at my company;&rdquo; 28 percent selected the response, &ldquo;It helped me with my work duties;&rdquo; and 6 percent selected the response, &ldquo;I received a pay raise.&rdquo; All of the survey respondents selected one or more of the above benefits of obtaining the certification.<br /><br />As for the difficulty of the exam, a majority of the respondents (54 percent) selected the response, &ldquo;It was more difficult than I had expected.&rdquo; For the question &ldquo;Were the examination questions practical?&rdquo; 80 percent of the respondents selected the response, &ldquo;The questions were practical,&rdquo; excluding the individuals who responded they did not know because they do not use XML/XML-related technology in their work duties.<br />
