Department of Commerce Deploys LearnCenter

<p><strong>Sunrise, Fla. &mdash; June 12</strong><br />Learn.com, a provider of on-demand workforce development and productivity, has announced that just 12 weeks after signing a new partnership with Learn.com, the U.S. Department of Commerce has deployed the LearnCenter platform to its almost 40,000 global employees in 12 bureaus. </p><p>The contract was awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Office of Personnel Management (OPM/GoLearn). </p><p>This is one of the fastest launches of a talent management/learning management suite in federal government history.<br /><br />The mission of the U.S. Department of Commerce is &ldquo;to foster, promote and develop the foreign and domestic commerce&rdquo; of the United States. </p><p>This has evolved, as a result of legislative and administrative additions, to encompass broadly the responsibility to foster, serve and promote the nation&rsquo;s economic development and technological advancement.<br /><br />&ldquo;It was incredible to be able to deploy a new enterprisewide learning management system in just 12 weeks,&rdquo; said Kathleen James, Commerce Learning Center manager. &ldquo;We are looking forward to expanding and enhancing the system in partnership with Learn.com and OPM.&rdquo;<br /><br />The U.S. Department of Commerce will use the LearnCenter platform to provide the environment that will enable the department to reach higher levels of organizational and management excellence agencywide and ensure competency in leadership and in mission-critical occupations.</p>
