Top IT Association Offers Members Degree

<p><strong>Hoboken, N.J. &mdash; May 8</strong><br />In an effort to encourage its members to earn graduate degrees in information management, one of the nation&#39;s premier IT management groups, the Society for Information Management (SIM), has teamed with Stevens Institute of Technology to provide an online interdisciplinary Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) degree. </p><p>With more than 3,000 members, SIM is an association of senior IT executives, prominent academicians, selected consultants and other IT thought leaders. Stevens information systems master&#39;s degree is one of the most successful and largest in the world.<br /><br />Designed especially for IT professionals, the 12-course masters builds executive strength and leadership, enabling companies to achieve success in aligning business and IT objectives. </p><p>Stevens&#39; MSIS program delivers management, business, strategic and technical skills with classes that combine lectures, cases, individual and team projects and participant presentations. </p><p>Taught by internationally recognized experts in information technology, technology management and business strategy, the program offers strong, practical, real-world IT and management skills.<br /><br />Instructor-led and e-learning courses are offered by Stevens&#39; award-wining online unit, WebCampus.</p><p>The same faculty members who teach online also teach at the school&#39;s Hoboken campus and at corporate sites in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area. </p><p>WebCampus won the &quot;21st-Century Best Practices in Distance Learning&quot; prize from the U.S. Distance Learning Association (USDLA) and was named &quot;Best Online University in the Nation&quot; by the Sloan Foundation. </p><p>The e-learning unit has enrolled nearly 14,000 graduate students from 42 U.S. states and 43 countries.<br /><br />The MIS-Stevens agreement is the 13th in Stevens&#39; partnership with global professional societies and associations. </p><p>With a total of more than 1 million members worldwide, these groups encourage members to raise their academic standing and increase their knowledge by enrolling in online graduate programs delivered by WebCampus. </p><p>Others is the program are AACE International, Association for Computing Machinery, American Institute if Chemical Engineers, America Society of Civil Engineers, ASME, Global Wireless Engineering Consortium, IEEE, NECA, National Society of Professional Engineers, Putnam, Reserve Officers Association, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and the Wall Street Technology Association.</p>
