Team Builders Joins Steininger Board of Trustees
<p><strong>Cherry Hill, N.J. — Aug. 22</strong><br />Mental health services provider Steininger Behavioral Care Services, based in Cherry Hill, N.J., has appointed to its board of trustees Jeffrey Backal, president and co-founder of global leadership and development firm Team Builders Plus, also based in Cherry Hill.<br /><br />Steininger is a private nonprofit that brings a comprehensive range of rehabilitative mental health services to Southern New Jersey communities. </p><p>The mission of Steininger Behavioral Care Services is “to maximize the self-reliance of individuals and families through quality, caring, behavioral health and community service.”<br /><br />Chief Executive Officer Len Altamura calls Backal’s selection to Steininger’s board of trustees a welcome addition. </p><p>“Jeff’s passion for helping groups of individuals develop into cohesive teams will be a great asset to our effort,” Altamura said.<br /><br />Backal displayed an early interest in health services, graduating from New York’s Ithaca College with a bachelor's degree in administration of health care services before earning a master's degree in business administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia. </p><p>“Because of my early career path, the opportunity to be of service to Steininger in the health care field was very appealing,” Backal said. “I look forward to contributing all that I can.” <br /><br />Through Team Builders Plus, Backal has worked closely with clients to understand their organizational culture, identify their development needs and recommend solutions to achieve their goals. </p><p>Since co-founding the company 16 years ago, tens of thousands of individuals, teams and organizations from across the country have benefited from Backal’s dedication to creating better work environments.<br /><br />Backal is an active member in professional organizations such as Tri-State Human Resource Management Association and The Delaware Valley Initiative, an employment issues resource center dedicated to helping area business owners and HR professionals. </p><p>He brings to his clients more than 17 years of management and consulting experience.<br /><br />Founded in 1991, Team Builders Plus conducts team building, individual, team and organizational assessments, performance coaching and leadership training for organizations worldwide. </p><p>More than 25 percent of Fortune 100 companies are clients of Team Builders Plus, including AT&T, Campbell Soup Co., Ford Motor Co., Hewlett-Packard, JP Morgan Chase & Co., L’Oreal and the U.S. Armed Forces.</p>
