Shelton, Van Hulzen Named “Women to Watch”

<p><strong>New York &mdash; Aug. 10</strong><br />Buck Consultants, an ACS company and a worldwide human resource and benefits consulting firms, has announced that Tammy Shelton and Kate Van Hulzen have been selected by <em>Business Insurance </em>magazine to its 2007 list of &ldquo;Women to Watch.&rdquo;<br /><br />Shelton, based in Dallas, is a principal and managing director of Buck&rsquo;s retirement consulting practice. Van Hulzen is a principal and communication practice leader in Buck&rsquo;s Los Angeles office.<br /><br /><em>Business Insurance </em>editors selected 50 women from hundreds of nominations. Those chosen represent senior executives and innovators doing outstanding work in commercial insurance, risk management, employee benefits and related fields.<br /><br />&ldquo;The selection process took several weeks and applied criteria, including professional achievements within the past three years, influence on the marketplace and contributions to the advancement of women in business,&rdquo; said Regis Coccia, editor of <em>Business Insurance</em>, in the July 30 issue, which contained the report. &ldquo;We consider the &#39;Women to Watch&#39; a starting point, not an endpoint, for discussing the importance of women in the industry.&rdquo;<br /><br />In selecting Shelton, <em>Business Insurance </em>noted that she has worked with some of the nation&rsquo;s largest corporations on their pension programs and serves on Buck Consultants&rsquo; Leadership Council. Shelton is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and has 25 years of consulting experience.<br /><br />&ldquo;I am honored to be among the 50 Women to Watch selected this year,&rdquo; Shelton said. &ldquo;The magazine cited my philosophy of putting clients&rsquo; needs first. This approach has enabled our business relationships to prosper and has fostered a Buck culture that develops successful careers for our younger consultants.&rdquo;<br /><br /><em>Business Insurance </em>cites Van Hulzen for creating award-winning communication programs that increase the effectiveness of employee rewards. </p><p>Her expertise includes developing communications that address the unique needs of Spanish-speaking employees.<br /><br />&ldquo;I am inspired by my clients&rsquo; success,&rdquo; Van Hulzen said. &ldquo;Therefore, our talented team here at Buck always focuses on the strategy and implementation that delivers the best results for our clients and their employees.&rdquo;</p><p>Jan K.
