Stoltenberg Consultant Assumes Interim Position

<strong>Pittsburgh &mdash; Sept. 27</strong><br />Stoltenberg Consulting Inc., a health care industry information technology consulting firm, has announced that Chris Adair, one of the company&rsquo;s leading consultants, has assumed the position of interim CIO and IT Director at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, Del.<br /><br />Adair&rsquo;s mission at Nanticoke is to optimize the capabilities and efficiencies of the hospital&rsquo;s information systems which are primarily being provided by Cerner Corp. <br /><br />Adair has restructured the IT department and added some key members to provide ongoing maintenance and smooth change controls as needed IT modifications are made. <br /><br />Multiple major projects are under way to optimize system efficiencies and to make the IT systems&rsquo; workflow match the hospital&rsquo;s workflow: operating room scheduling and peri-op documentation improvements, overall optimization of nursing clinical documentation, major coding upgrades and platform upgrades as the hospital considers moving to a hosted service.<br /><br />&ldquo;We are very pleased with the way the projects are going,” said Vendla Esler, vice president of patient care services. “Our hospital wanted a fresh, new perspective on how we could best optimize our IT resources and Stoltenberg is providing that service.<br /><br />Adair echoed the sentiment. <br /><br />&ldquo;Our goal is to have optimum IT solutions in place as quickly as possible,” Adair said. “With the superb cooperation of the hospital&rsquo;s present IT staff, we are making excellent progress. All of our initiatives are well under way, and we are presently negotiating the hosted service solution.&rdquo;
