WebCampus Enrollment Jumps Nearly 25 Percent

<p><strong>Hoboken, N.J. &mdash; July 26</strong><br />For the seventh consecutive year, WebCampus, the e-learning unit of Stevens Institute of Technology, has reported a record rise in graduate enrollment and tuition revenue. </p><p>For the 2006-07 academic period, the online school generated more than 3,600 enrollments, topping last year by more than 24.5 percent. </p><p>The unit also posted more than $9.2 million in tuition revenue.<br /><br />&quot;As amazing as these numbers are, what is just as impressive is the percentage of enrollments from students living beyond 50 miles from campus &mdash; this year, it increased from 20 to 30 percent,&quot; WebCampus Director Robert Zotti said. &quot;These results support our goal of making Stevens a respected leader in online learning programs, not just locally in the New York-New Jersey metro area but across the country and around the globe.&quot;<br /><br />Zotti added that the school had originally projected online enrollments of 2,900 and revenue of $6.7 for the year. </p><p>Adding the year&#39;s robust data brings total enrollment to nearly 14,000 and tuition revenue to $26.5 million since the unit was first launched in 2000. </p><p>WebCampus continually exceeds the national average of 11 percent in university online education enrollment, reported annually by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.</p>
