Sam Herring Named to the ASTD Board of Directors

<strong>Alexandria, Va. &mdash; Feb. 13</strong><br />Sam Herring, co-founder and executive vice president of Intrepid Learning Solutions, has been appointed to serve on the board of directors for the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) for a two-year term, 2008-2009. The board sets the society&rsquo;s strategic direction and provides leadership to the profession and ASTD&rsquo;s members worldwide.<br /><br />Herring leads the company&rsquo;s sales, marketing, solution architecture and account management operations. Herring and his team have developed key Intrepid client relationships including Autodesk, Honeywell, Macy&rsquo;s, Salesforce.com, S.C. Johnson, United Airlines and Wells Fargo Bank. <br /><br />He is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences and seminars, including those hosted by ASTD, The Conference Board, The Masie Center and VNU. He is immediate past-chair of the ASTD Board of Directors Selection Committee and is a past member of the advisory committees for the ASTD TechKnowledge Conference and the TechLearn conference. In addition, Herring has been recognized as a &ldquo;Who&rsquo;s Who&rdquo; training industry thought leader by TrainingOutsourcing.com.<br /><br />He is also a director of New Futures, a Seattle area children and family services agency. Herring holds a master&rsquo;s degree from Harvard University, where he studied ethics, religion and workforce development, and a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in history from Yale University.<br />
