Paralyzed Veterans Launch Presence on Gather.com

<p><strong>Boston &mdash; July 11</strong><br />Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans&#39; service organization founded in 1946, has launched a group called Support Veterans on Gather.com, a provider of social media for adults. </p><p>The new community is designed to serve as an online forum for veterans, active service members, and family and friends to share their experiences and accomplishments.<br /><br />&quot;Veterans.gather.com is a community for America&#39;s heroes,&quot; said Tom Gerace, Gather.com founder and CEO. &quot;We are excited to be able to provide a platform that that allows Paralyzed Veterans of America to build a deeper relationship with its supporters and provide veterans and their friends and families with a place to discuss issues that matter to them most.&quot;</p><p>Mark Dowis, Paralyzed Veterans of America associate executive director of development and marketing, agreed.&nbsp; </p><p>&quot;We work to empower all our disabled veterans with everything they need to excel,&quot; Dowis said. &quot;The Support Veterans group on Gather.com will help us to harness the power of social media to unite people and activities toward our single mission: improved quality of life for all people with disabilities.&quot;</p>
