Novell Delivers Enhancements to Security Info
<p><strong>Waltham, Mass. — Oct. 9</strong><br />Furthering its commitment to delivering a single, real-time view of security and compliance activities across the enterprise, Novell has released a new service pack to improve its Sentinel 6 security information and event management (SIEM) product. </p><p>Sentinel from Novell helps make sense out of collected event data, identifies security or compliance issues, and it tracks remediation activities, streamlining previously error-prone processes and building a more rigorous and secure management program.<br /><br />The Sentinel 6 service pack incorporates enhancements such as:</p><ul><li>Improved graphical displays that increase usability and performance.</li><li>A feature-rich data-collector-builder engine that makes creating collectors easier and quicker and improves deployment.</li><li>The ability to export raw, unaltered log data to a text file, which is useful for debugging and testing data collection.</li><li>Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 on x86_64 hardware.<br /></li></ul><p>Sentinel 6 from Novell gathers and correlates security and nonsecurity information from across an organization's networked infrastructure, including data from identity and access management products such as Novell Identity Manager and Novell Access Manager, as well as third-party systems, devices and applications.</p>
