Global Knowledge, a provider of IT and business training, announced the availability of Cisco Security Information Management Boot Camp, a five-day custom course created by combining two Cisco Security training courses: Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis, and Response System v3.0 (MARS) and Implementing Security Manager for Cisco Networks v1.1 (SMN).
The resulting Boot Camp provides students the training needed to manage a comprehensive security management solution that encompasses security provisioning, event monitoring and threat detection and mitigation using the MARS appliance and Cisco Security Manager (CSM), both elements of the Cisco Security Management Suite.
After covering MARS using the latest version of the MARS software, the course transitions to CSM through a MARS-to-CSM cross-launch, demonstrating the integration of the products in an attach scenario.
In exclusive lab exercises, students will work on live equipment, configure Netflow on IOS routers, install and configure the latest SNARE software and add a Symantec AV Server. In an exclusive lab on maintaining the MARS appliance, students will explore commands available in newer versions of code that allow for backing up the configuration and raw message information separately and for using a RADIUS server to authenticate to the MARS appliance.
The course is designed for network professionals who need to centralize configuration management, policy management and monitoring using CSM and MARS, and it prepares students for Cisco Exam 642-544 MARS.
