Objective : Manage non-Notes and Notes clients

SubObjective : Using Notes client interface enhancements

Single Answer Multiple Choice

Jeremy is setting up a user in his organization as a roaming user. He wants the roaming user upgrade to take place on the Notes client without the user being prompted for the upgrade. How would he accomplish this?

  1. This is not possible. Users must always be prompted to accept a roaming user upgrade before the upgrade can take place.
  2. In the Roaming tab of the Person document for this user, choose “Prompt user for clean-up” in the “Clean-up setting” field.
  3. In the Domino Administrator client, select the user and choose “People > Roaming…” in the Tools pane. In the Assign Roaming Profiles dialog box, disable the setting “User should be prompted” in the Client upgrade option section.
  4. In the Domino Administrator client, select the user and choose “People > Roaming…” in the Tools pane. In the Assign Roaming Profiles dialog box, select “Do not prompt user” as the Client clean-up option.

Answer:
C. In the Domino Administrator client, select the user and choose “People > Roaming…” in the Tools pane. In the Assign Roaming Profiles dialog box, disable the setting “User should be prompted” in the Client upgrade option section.

Tutorial:
The message prompt that displays on a Notes client, allowing the user to suppress the roaming user upgrade, can now be controlled via a Roaming Profile assigned to the user. From the Domino Administrator client, select the user and choose “People > Roaming” in the Tools pane. In the Assign Roaming Profiles dialog box, disable (uncheck) the setting “User should be prompted” in the Client upgrade option section to prevent the display of the message prompt asking the user if they want to upgrade the client. When this setting is disabled, the roaming user upgrade is done by default.
