ISACA Certifies 1,000th CGEIT and 10,000th CISM

<strong>Rolling Meadows, Ill. &mdash; Dec. 1</strong><br />CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), two professional designations from ISACA, continue to grow. ISACA, a nonprofit association of IT governance, security and assurance professionals, recently certified the 1,000th CGEIT and the 10,000th CISM. <br /> <br />In addition, ISACA&rsquo;s CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) designation celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2008. CISA has been earned by more than 60,000 professionals worldwide since inception. <br /> <br />&ldquo;In this turbulent economic time, it is especially important for professionals to continually increase their knowledge and ensure they receive recognition for the value they bring to their enterprises,&rdquo; said Howard Nicholson, business analyst for the City of Salisbury (Australia) and chair of ISACA&rsquo;s CGEIT Certification Board. &ldquo;Certifications benefit professionals by providing recognition for their skill sets and dedication to the field. Organizations also have greater assurance that they are hiring, retaining or promoting the most qualified person.”<br /> <br />The next exam offering for CISA, CISM and CGEIT is June 13, 2009.  <br />
