Redwood City, Calif. — Nov. 5
Informatica Corp., an independent provider of data integration software and services, introduced the Informatica Data Quality Certification program for Informatica partners, customers and other IT professionals seeking to extend, standardize and validate their skills in supporting customer data-quality initiatives.

Building on Informatica's extensive data-quality educational resources, proven data-quality best practices and methodology for ensuring customer success, the Informatica Data Quality Certification program is the first such program from an independent and widely recognized data-quality leader.

”Double-digit growth in the data-quality market is driving the need for a robust framework to equip professionals with the expertise necessary to spearhead enterprise data-quality initiatives,” said Ivan Chong, senior vice president and general manager of data quality at Informatica.

”As the fastest-growing leader in the data-quality market, Informatica is generating demand for data-quality domain expertise. The Informatica Data Quality Certification program will broaden the Informatica partner ecosystem by arming professionals with the ability to certify their skills and differentiate themselves in the data quality arena.”

Since 2001, more than 5,000 certifications on Informatica data integration products have been awarded to professionals employed by companies in Informatica's network of strategic partners. In adding data quality to its suite of certification offerings, Informatica is underscoring the critical importance of data quality to any data integration initiative. Through the program, individuals are provided the opportunity to become Informatica-Certified Data Quality Professionals.

To achieve this level of certification, individuals must first achieve certification as both an Informatica Data Quality Specialist and an Informatica Data Explorer Specialist through demonstrating via examination that they possess the technical knowledge and ability to design, implement, use and support these respective Informatica solutions to solve customer business problems.

”As a PowerCenter Certified Professional, I can attest that Informatica's certification programs have proved invaluable in promoting knowledge, consistent best practices and customer confidence,” said Kevin Madrick, senior manager at ThoughtCorp. “With its data integration leadership position now extending to data quality tools, Informatica's Data Quality Certification program is a natural and welcome addition.”
