IHRIM Forms Foundation to Promote Research and Education in HR Information Management

<p><strong>Burlington, Mass.</strong><br />The International Association for Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM) announced it formed the Human Resource Information Management (HRIM) Foundation. This independent, charitable, 501(c)(3) organization will promote scholarships, research and education to drive innovation and the use of technology and information management in the human resource profession. <br /><br />As part of this effort, the HRIM Foundation plans to:</p><ul><li>Fund scholarly publications on specific HR and HRIM issues.</li><li>Encourage development of educational programs and course curriculum to advance the HRIM profession.</li><li>Sponsor educational events about current and emerging HR technology.</li><li>Conduct research and development activities related to HRIM and the needs of HR systems professionals.</li><li>Fund the development of a professional certification program designed to solidify and enhance the HRMS profession. </li><li>Develop and nurture funding sources for the foundation&rsquo;s work.</li></ul>&ldquo;IHRIM is very excited about the HRIM Foundation and its goal of further enhancing the HRIM profession,&rdquo; said Lynne Mealy, president of IHRIM. &ldquo;We believe it will play a vital role in enriching our industry.&rdquo;<br /><br />While IHRIM&rsquo;s chapters provided initial seed money to fund the foundation, a task force has been formed to raise additional funds.
