Atlanta — Oct. 19
HRWORKS, a national recruitment firm, has been recognized by the Metro Atlanta Corporate Volunteer Council for the company’s CHARITYWORKS employee volunteer program.

CHARITYWORKS is the recipient of a 2007 IMPACT (Involvement Means People Acting Together) award in the category of Innovative/Collaborative Program.

HRWORKS employees nominate the charitable causes and make the final selections of which organizations to support. An employee-elected leader manages the selection process and guides the project managers for each initiative. Projects rotate monthly.

“Since CHARITYWORKS is employee-driven, the diverse array of philanthropies that we support reflects the differing interests of our employees,” said Kurt Ronn, HRworks president and founder. “Employees, regardless of job function, collaborate, resulting in broader volunteer efforts and a more sustainable program.”

In 2007, CHARITYWORKS will conduct more than 22 events or activities, supporting a wide range of charitable causes.

For some endeavors, employees donate their time and talent. For others, they offer financial contributions or collect needed supplies. More than 80 percent of HRWORKS employees participate.

Examples of 2007 initiatives include constructing a Habitat for Humanity house; hosting the basketball competition at the Special Olympics Georgia Indoor Winter Games; donating clothing and accessories to Dress for Success, which aids disadvantaged women; and “adopting” U.S. servicemen as part of the AnySoldier.com program.

“CHARITYWORKS truly makes an impact on our community,” said Terry Long, a human resources consultant for HRWORKS who was elected by his fellow employees as to chair the 2007 CHARITYWORKS program. “CHARITYWORKS is an extension of the passion our employees have for numerous charitable causes.”
