Horsham, Pa. — March 26
HR professionals attending Human Resource Executive Conferences’ HR in Healthcare Conference, being held April 15-17, will have the opportunity to learn from industry leaders in the health care industry. The conference is part of the sixth annual NY HR Week event at the Hilton Hotel, easily accessible in New York City.

Scripps Health, Lee Memorial Health System, Griffin Hospital and Healthcare Performance Solutions, as well as a number of HR vendors serving the specific needs of the health care industry, will be on hand. Consult A Doctor, Corporate Synergies, HIP GHI, International Medical Resources, Mercer, Perceptive Software, Pinstripe and WorkSTEPS are among the exhibitors at HR in Healthcare.

Jill Schwieters, executive vice president of Pinstripe Healthcare, said, “We are pleased to be participating in the HR in Healthcare Conference this year. Talent and recruiting challenges are not new to the health care industry; however, it is refreshing to see health care organizations start to more aggressively seek new solutions to these problems.”

Schwieters added, “With the significant shortages that are already impacting the industry in a variety of roles from nursing to transcriptionists, it is time for health care to look to other industries for best practices. There is no short-term solution to solving the health care talent shortage, so it is critical to look for proactive and disciplined approaches to win the war for talent in the markets they serve."

The health care industry faces a growing number of unique HR challenges. For example, as the supply of nurses dwindles domestically, more organizations are seeking to source and recruit nurses globally. The ability to understand the differences in nursing practices across different geographies, as well as immigration requirements and cultural differences means HR professionals in the health care sector must be armed with the right knowledge and tools to be effective in recruiting and retaining nurses.

One of HR in Healthcare’s most anticipated events is a panel moderated by Tom Olivo, founding partner of Healthcare Performance Solutions. Joining Olivo are George Mikitarian, president and CEO of Titusville, Florida-based Parrish Medical Center; Joan K. Mollohan, senior vice president of human resources of New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System; and Craig Morley, CFO of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare. The panelists will discuss “The State of HR in Healthcare” and delve into how HR can help make health care organizations more effective, adaptive and creative. Mikitarian will also present a separate session on creating a culture that attracts, retains and motivates the highest levels of physician engagement.

The early bird registration of $995 is in effect for HR in Healthcare registrations received on or before March 28. After March 28, the registration fee is $1,095. The fee includes attendance at all available sessions, continental breakfast each morning, refreshment breaks, luncheons, evening reception, admission to the Expo Hall and a comprehensive set of program materials. Attendees also have the option of purchasing the NY HR Week Super Pass in order to attend the sessions from all three conferences and as well as their choice of pre-conference symposiums. Super Pass attendees also receive conference materials for sessions from all three conferences. The Super Pass early-bird fee is $1,295 for registrations received on or before March 28. After that date, the Super Pass is $1,395.

More About NY HR Week
NY HR Week will feature a two-floor exposition that will provide conference attendees with the opportunity to network with vendors, comparison shop, collect literature and view exciting new vendor products and services.

NY HR Week also includes the Annual HRO World Conference & Expo, an industry event that delivers proven solutions to tactical and strategic HRO problems. Last year’s event attracted more than 1,550 attendees, 80 percent of whom were director level and above. By attending HRO World participants receive the tools and knowledge required to address the planning, implementation and management changes involved in selective or end-to-end HR outsourcing.

At this year’s HRO World, attendees can choose from a dozen sessions featuring the industry’s leading practitioners, vendors and analysts on the strategic and operational issues associated with HR outsourcing, and retained HR functions.
