Chicago — Sept. 19
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) will host its fourth Virtual Conference & Expo Nov. 19-20, featuring education sessions, concurrent sessions and opportunities for obtaining product knowledge and networking. Created in partnership with Healthcare IT News, the HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo is free to qualified registrants.

The HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo held in April garnered 2,800 health care professionals and exhibitors.

Attendees will be able to access the event from their desks. If registrants miss part of the live event, they can access the education sessions, keynote speeches and exhibits on-demand for 30 days after conference at no cost.

November’s educational program includes opening and closing keynote sessions, education sessions that are divided into two educational themes: IT leadership and clinical informatics, and four concurrent sessions for ambulatory-care professionals.

Ronald Brownstein, political director of Atlantic Media Company will perform the keynote presentation about how the current divisions in American politics will affect the debate over health care issues — from universal coverage to insurance reform — in the months after the presidential election.

Other sessions include “Lessons Learned from One Hundred EHR Implementations: How Your Practice Could Be the Next Success Story,” by Masspro DOQ-IT manager, Joseph Holtschlag; and “Crucial Conversations to Influence the Design of Usable Technology,” by the Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform (TIGER).
