HealthPort Partners With Summit Healthcare to Provide Seamless Document Integration
HealthPort, a health information management and technology company, recently announced that it has partnered with Summit Healthcare to increase the product value of its electronic document management system (HealthPort EDMS). Through the partnership, HealthPort EDMS provides the ability to easily interface and integrate with any application a health care provider utilizes.
For more than 10 years, Summit Healthcare has been integrating health care technology products and is a proven integrator for Meditech’s electronic medical record (EMR) system. This partnership increases HealthPort’s ability to integrate its electronic document management system with any software application residing in a health care facility. The Summit Healthcare product monitors any application on a user’s machine, and through an intelligent interface, all clinical or nonclinical documents for the patient documents are presented in the EDMS application. In addition, documents are presented in context.
“Throughout the development of our EDMS product, we have aimed to meet the needs of facilities with various solutions installed that are still looking for a best-of-breed solution to manage their hybrid record,” explained Aaron Brandwein, vice president of HealthPort EDMS. “This partnership completes this strategic vision for the product while also increasing value across the enterprise.”
HealthPort’s electronic document management system (HealthPort EDMS) is an application that helps health care organizations manage paper and electronic medical records in one location. The system includes innovative features such as OCR, record locator, automated workflow and remote coding.
“Summit is very pleased to be selected as HealthPort’s integration provider,” remarked Steve McDonald, vice president of business development for Summit Healthcare. “It is particularly rewarding that HealthPort’s evaluation of various options resulted in their selection of our ground breaking K2 technology product. Unlike legacy scripting alternatives, our K2 product’s advanced capabilities are better suited to HealthPort’s long-term goals.”
