Nashua, N.H. — Nov. 28
Eedo Knowledgeware announced that the German Goethe-Institut has chosen Eedo ForceTen as its main production platform for e-learning-based language training. The Goethe-Institut selected ForceTen because it could support a complex set of requirements to create and manage content, as well as promote blended learning.

The Goethe-Institut is a German nonprofit government organization whose mission is to promote German language and culture worldwide. E-learning is playing a pivotal role in its drive to maintain and expand its offering of quality language courses.

”We needed a system that facilitates decentralized authoring of e-learning content across a complex and global organization and yet allowed us to retain control of quality standards,” said Marcus Biechele, head of the multimedia development team.

”ForceTen, with its database-driven, object-oriented content model and rich set of content management features, allows us to access and reuse media assets, questions or entire modules, no matter where they have been created, thus allowing us to produce content faster and more efficiently,” continued Biechele.

The Goethe-Institut offers e-learning modules as part of an integrated blended-learning concept designed to extend its offerings of language courses. The modules will also be used to promote long-term relationships with its customers that go beyond the typical course models.

”The Goethe-Institut has an ambitious mandate to foster international cultural cooperation, and consequently needs, in the field of teaching German as a foreign language, a comprehensive and scalable solution to help it achieve its goals,” said John Hudson, president and CEO of Eedo Knowledgeware. “Our impressive track record in government and intergovernmental organizations, as well as our presence in Germany, prove that we are a strong and reliable partner for such a challenging project.”

In September, Eedo announced it had expanded its German presence and had moved its German headquarters to Berlin. Also, in a study conducted earlier this year, Elearnity, a European independent learning analyst firm, recognized Eedo as an established player in the European market. The study, which focused on the learning content management market, also acknowledged ForceTen as a best-of-breed learning content management system (LCMS).

ForceTen provides an effective means to develop, deploy and maintain education and training programs. The dynamic capability of its products makes it possible for organizations to easily update and reuse content while delivering flexible learning programs that can adapt to individual users' needs, requirements and preferences. ForceTen is one of several products that comprise the Eedo knowledge and learning suite.
