Cary, N.C. — June 10

Global Knowledge, a provider of IT and business training, announced the launch of its updated Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis, and Response System (MARS) training class, in which students learn to use MARS to identify, manage and eliminate network attacks and maintain network compliance.

Designed for Cisco customers and channel partners, this third and latest version of the course provides students one extra day for more real-world labs, network devices and software applications.

Where the standard MARS course uses preconfigured virtual devices, the Global Knowledge course uses actual equipment to prepare students for real-world scenarios. Students will learn about:

Basic physical installation.

Adding Cisco and non-Cisco security and network devices into the MARS appliance.

Attack mitigation and false-positive confirmation.

Configuring MARS to perform incident investigation and mitigation.

Long-duration queries and reports on the MARS appliance.

Configuring rules that detect interesting patterns of network activity.

Case management features.

Configuring hardware maintenance.

MARS interaction with Cisco Security Manager.

Basic configuration of a Cisco IPS in Cisco Security Manager.

This course is available in our classrooms or as a private, on-site course that can be tailored to the needs of your organization.
