First Colorado Woman Receives Rare Microsoft Recognition
Parker, Colo. — June 23
Microsoft Corp. recently awarded the distinction of Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) Instructor to Dawn Bjork Buzbee, owner of The Software Pro. Buzbee is the first Colorado woman to achieve this certification, which is the highest level of mastery in Microsoft Office 2007.
Buzbee is one of only two certified Microsoft Office 2007 Instructors in Colorado and joins an elite group of fewer than 50 Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) Instructors across the United States and fewer than 100 MCAS Instructors worldwide.
With Microsoft Office commanding more than 85 percent of the market for desktop office suites, the latest release of Office 2007 is having a huge impact on business productivity. “Microsoft Office 2007 is the most significant update in over 10 years for the world's leading desktop programs,” said Buzbee.
“Even though the core function of each program remains, the look and feel of Office 2007 is dramatically different. Thousands of hours of productivity and profit are lost each day as business workers struggle to figure out the changes on their own. Businesses need to create proactive strategies on how they can effectively and easily use custom training and coaching to make the upgrade to Office 2007 a smooth transition.”
The highly sought certification of MCAS Instructor validates a trainer's skills and hands-on ability to use the entire Microsoft Office 2007 suite of business productivity programs, including Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista.
Buzbee also holds other Microsoft credentials, including Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor, Microsoft Word Expert and Microsoft Excel Expert. Additionally, The Software Pro is certified as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE).
