Environmental Protection Agency Deploys Plateau

<p><strong>Arlington, Va. &mdash; May 31</strong><br />Plateau Systems, a provider of talent management software, content and services, has announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently deployed Plateau Performance&rsquo;s competency management and assessment applications across several mission-critical occupations.&nbsp; </p><p>Plateau&rsquo;s solution will allow the EPA to assess competencies, provide individualized training and development and streamline career and succession planning across the agency&rsquo;s entire workforce.<br /><br />&ldquo;The EPA needed a secure solution that could easily manage our ever-evolving competency library and could scale to support competency-based workforce development across our 17,000 employees,&rdquo; said Jeffrey Bryan, chief of the EPA&#39;s Human Capital Planning Branch.&nbsp; &ldquo;Plateau&rsquo;s solution accelerates the achievement of EPA&rsquo;s immediate goals while allowing us to quickly expand and extend the solution over time to enable future talent management initiatives across the entire agency.&rdquo; <br /><br />The EPA&rsquo;s competency management system enables workers to advance their careers through personalized development and assessment plans that align with organizational initiatives, as well as employee career goals.&nbsp; </p><p>Based on the Office of Personnel Management&rsquo;s mandated competency model, the EPA&rsquo;s competencies integrate with Plateau&rsquo;s Performance applications.&nbsp; </p><p>Using Plateau to document and assess competencies will enable senior EPA managers to better align and support employee training and development in the face of scarce and declining resources. <br /><br />As part of the initial phase of the project, the EPA is also rolling out Plateau 360 Multi-Rater, which allows the Agency to better target development activities by collecting feedback from employees and their respective supervisor(s).&nbsp; </p><p>The EPA can tailor these assessments to expand coverage and participation, resulting in more precise development activities and a more productive workforce. &nbsp;<br /><br />&ldquo;By integrating its competency models with Plateau&rsquo;s best-of-breed talent management solutions, the EPA is taking a progressive approach to managing employee talent across the entire agency,&rdquo; said Paul Sparta, Plateau chairman and CEO. &ldquo;Plateau provides the enterprise-class scalability, functionality and flexibility needed to support the EPA&#39;s massive workforce while providing employees a clear picture of how their occupation and goals fits into the larger EPA picture.&rdquo;<br /><br />Plateau has a proven record of success across the federal government.&nbsp; </p><p>Agencies &mdash; including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) rely on Plateau&rsquo;s solutions to power a wide rage of learning, training and performance initiatives.&nbsp; </p>
