San Francisco — June 1
The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, announced the plenary agenda for its 23rd Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference (EAPC) and its 3rd Security Practitioners Conference (SPC), to be held in Toronto, July 20-24.

The theme of the EAPC, “The Enterprise Architecture Lifecycle,” will focus on how to bring together the various pieces of enterprise architecture (EA) to form a complete project life cycle. The SPC will showcase tracks on “Evolving Security Architectures” and “Trends in Managing Risk and Compliance.”

EAPC Highlights
The opening plenary session on July 20 will feature enterprise architects from large enterprises and government organizations such as Bank of Montreal, the Canadian government and Capgemini discussing EA and business strategy. Parallel streams in the afternoon will address key topics in the enterprise architecture life cycle, including business, application, data and technology architectures.

The plenary session on July 21 will take a more tactical look at ways to implement enterprise architecture, and that afternoon’s parallel streams will focus on business architecture, SOA and the EA life cycle. July 22 will host parallel streams on modeling languages and tools for EA, cloud computing and professional development.

SPC Highlights
Now on its third series, the SPC will feature plenary and focused sessions on July 21 on best practices for architecting information security, including tracks on virtualization and choosing the right cloud service provider. Sessions on Wednesday, July 22 will explore trends in governance, risk and compliance, featuring tracks on evolving cyberspace regulations, risk management, privacy and health care.

“Managing the enterprise architecture life cycle is crucial to not only initiating the development of an enterprise architecture but also sustaining its evolution as business needs change,” said Allen Brown, president and CEO of The Open Group. “The Open Group is pleased to feature a range of speakers and topics on this important element of EA at our 23rd Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference.”

Registration is open to both members and nonmembers of The Open Group.
