EmploymentGroup Announces 2007 Results, 2008 Strategic Growth Initiatives

EmploymentGroup, a solutions-oriented staffing and outsourced services firm, announced its 2007 results and 2008 strategic growth initiatives, highlighted by continued revenue growth, geographic expansion and an ongoing commitment to helping its corporate clients and staffing associates succeed. As part of its announcement, EmploymentGroup reported double-digit growth in 2007, with sales exceeding $54 million. EmploymentGroup also noted that 2008 marks a key milestone in its history as the company celebrates its 50th year in the staffing industry.

“Our success in 2007 is thanks to the hard work and dedication of our entire team and their commitment to growing the business despite a challenging economy in Michigan,” said Mark Lancaster, CEO of EmploymentGroup. “Our 2007 revenue growth once again proved that we have built a strong organization on proven operating principles that have been helping people succeed for 50 years. With a strong platform in place, we expect 2008 to be another year of steady growth and geographic expansion.”

The company’s 2008 growth plan comprises a number of key initiatives, including:

  • Firm-wide commitment to technological innovation. A key goal for sustained growth is the continued refinement of its proprietary, Web-based screening tool, SucessCheck, which prescreens candidates before accepting their online applications. The company expects this groundbreaking program — which analyzes candidates for their potential professional and cultural “fit”— along with a firm-wide commitment to technological innovation, to be a key contributor to differentiating EmploymentGroup in the industry as they continue expanding upon service offerings as well as expansion into new markets.
  • Strengthen leadership team. EmploymentGroup also noted the company is focusing on building out its roster of top-tier talent that will not only help EmploymentGroup continue to expand, but whose experience will add to the Company’s already deep institutional knowledge base. A key element for EmploymentGroup in this process will be strengthening their implementation of the pioneering “Topgrading” system during the first half of 2008, by continuing to certify management staff members in Topgrading. “Topgrading,” developed by nationally recognized management consultant Brad Smart, helps companies not only recruit the “best of the best” often referred to as “A” players, but provides a systematic approach to developing proven retention techniques. In addition, EmploymentGroup is focusing on adding lean-certified leader to its team, enabling the Company to fully implement the lean process throughout the organization to create a more dynamic, flexible and streamlined environment focused on growth.
  • Geographic expansion. Having opened offices in Chicago, Grand Haven, Mich., and Indianapolis in late 2007, EmploymentGroup said it expects to open two new additional offices in 2008, helping to reach its current-year goal of $59 million in revenue. The company presently operates 17 offices in three states: Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.
