  4. A user may unlock a document only from that document’s database replica or a replica on the Master Lock server.

Answer:
D. A user may unlock a document only from that document’s database replica or a replica on the Master Lock server.

Tutorial:
To enable document locking for a database, an Administration Server must first be selected in the Advanced tab of the access control list (ACL) for the database. The Administration Server is considered the Master Lock server for a database that is enabled for document locking.

Once the Master Lock server has been specified, the Allow document locking setting in the Basics tab of the Database Properties can be enabled. The following image shows the Database Properties dialog box:

The warning message in the bottom image will be displayed if you attempt to enable document locking without first specifying the Master Lock server.

When document locking is enabled for a database, users with Author access or higher can lock a document by highlighting the document in a view and selecting Actions > Lock Document in the main menu. After a document has been locked by a user, only that user may modify the document while it remains locked.

The user that locked a document also can unlock the document. Users with an ACL Access Level of Manager can unlock documents that were locked by other users. Once a document has been unlocked, it can be modified by any user that has the appropriate access level in the ACL.
