CompTIA Spotlights PDI+ at Recharger World Expo

<strong>Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. &mdash; Aug. 19</strong><br />The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), a provider of vendor-neutral certifications for technology professionals, announced it will feature its CompTIA PDI+ certification this week at Recharger World Expo 2008.<br /> <br />CompTIA will present three certification forums and exhibit in Booth No. 2609 at Recharger World Expo 2008, scheduled for Aug. 20-22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center in Las Vegas.<br /> <br />CompTIA PDI+ certification validates a technician&rsquo;s ability to support printing and document imaging devices including printers, copiers, scanners, multifunctional devices and fax machines, regardless of the manufacturer. The certification exam also covers soft skills such as customer service, professionalism, safety and environmental considerations.<br /> <br />&ldquo;CompTIA PDI+ is exactly what the printing and document imaging industry has asked us for,&rdquo; said Michael Robie, vice president of skills development at CompTIA. &ldquo;The programs we will offer at Recharger World Expo will address the components of the certification and share proven ways that CompTIA PDI+ has helped organizations lower their costs.&rdquo;<br /> <br />&ldquo;CompTIA PDI+ Certification for Technicians: Why Get Certified&rdquo; is scheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 20. This presentation will address what the certification exam covers, whether training is necessary and how and why CompTIA PDI+ benefits the reseller and the individual technicians.<br /> <br />The second program, &ldquo;Certified Technicians: What OEMs and Resellers Are Saying,&rdquo; will focus on original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that recommend and mandate CompTIA PDI+ for their technicians and service channel partners. Attendees will hear case studies from companies who rely on CompTIA PDI+ certified technicians and how it is reducing costs and increasing customer satisfaction. The program is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21.<br /> <br />&ldquo;The Future of Basic Training for Technicians&rdquo; is scheduled for 1 p.m. Aug. 21. It will address how CompTIA PDI+ validates a technician&rsquo;s ability to resolve most printing and scanning programs and diagnose fundamental connectivity-related issues. Attendees will find out how CompTIA PDI+ provides a stepping stone toward training for OEM authorization on vendor-specific devices.<br /><br />Recharger World Expo 2008, sponsored by <em>Recharger Magazine</em>, is a gathering of document imaging professionals interested in growing their business, learning about the latest industry trends and building their brands.<br />
