Coco Joins Lowe’s as VP of Learning…Effectiveness

<strong>Mooresville, N.C. &mdash; Jan. 22</strong><br />Lowe&rsquo;s Companies Inc. (NYSE: LOW) announced that Cedric T. Coco, has joined the company as vice president of learning and organizational effectiveness. Coco has more than a decade of experience in learning and development and organization performance at Microsoft, KLA-Tencor and GE. He reports to Maureen K. Ausura, senior vice president of human resources. <br /><br />In his new role, Coco will have responsibility for enterprise-wide organization effectiveness, talent development and learning strategies, which will play a critical role in preparing Lowe&rsquo;s for continued expansion across North America. He will lead the company&rsquo;s efforts to ensure Lowe&rsquo;s has a pipeline of talent capable of achieving the company&rsquo;s growth and expansion goals well into the future. <br /><br />&ldquo;Lowe&rsquo;s is seeing strong growth, and we have high expectations for our more than 210,000 employees across the company,&rdquo; said Ausura. &ldquo;Cedric&rsquo;s diverse background and practical expertise aligns with our ongoing investments in developing our existing workforce and talent pipeline.&rdquo;<br /><br />Prior to joining Lowe&rsquo;s, Coco was general manager of engineering excellence at Microsoft Corp., where he was responsible for driving learning and development, engineering process strategies, engineering compliance efforts and performance support methodologies for the company&rsquo;s global engineering and IT workforce. Coco holds a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Louisiana and an MBA from San Jose State University. <br /><br />With fiscal year 2006 sales of $46.9 billion, Lowe&rsquo;s Companies Inc. is a Fortune 50 company that serves approximately 13 million customers a week at more than 1,500 home-improvement stores in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1946 and based in Mooresville, Lowe&rsquo;s is the second-largest home improvement retailer in the world. <br />
