Five months ago, Cisco released a pilot version of a community portal for Cisco-certified IT professionals. Now Cisco is announcing the official launch of the Cisco Certifications Community, a portal to allow Cisco-certified professionals, like Cisco Certified Network Associates (CCNAs), Cisco Certified Network Professionals (CCNPs) and Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts (CCIEs) to communicate and share knowledge and best practices. Since its initial pilot release, the portal has already attracted more than 20,000 member subscribers.

Content on the community is free to all Cisco-certified individuals, once their certification status is verified online. The Cisco Certifications Community provides news, discussion groups, white papers and articles, video presentations, content covering networking tools and various learning tools. For the official launch, Cisco has also included three hours of free online training on best practices in security, a CCNA and CCNP game on networking skills and a toolbox for networkers that contains technical information as well as profiles of successful CCIEs.

CCNAs, CCNPs, CCIEs and other Cisco-certified individuals can also use the Cisco Certifications Community to keep up-to-date on Cisco certification information. The community will inform participants of updates to Cisco’s certification programs and recertification requirements. The portal will also provide information about upcoming courses and exams.

Cisco-certified individuals can visit http://www.cisco.com/go/certcommunity to participate in the community.
