1&1 Servers Now Delivered With Windows Hosting

<strong>Philadelphia &mdash; Dec. 16 </strong><br />Web host 1&1 Internet Inc. announced that all dedicated Windows Servers are delivered with Microsoft&#39;s new operating system, Windows Web Server 2008. All systems are also equipped with the platform that helps users to install comprehensive Web applications with just a few mouse clicks.<br /><br />The delivery of Web applications and services is based on the new Internet Information Services 7 (IIS7). Thanks to individual modules for these services, the new operating system is less vulnerable to external attacks and requires fewer server resources. IIS7 includes many new and improved administration tools such as the graphical IIS manager. 1&1 customers can choose from three Windows Server 2008 versions. Besides the standard image including SQL Microsoft Express Edition 2008, there are also versions with Parallels Plesk Panel 8.6. and &ldquo;minimal installation&rdquo; available.<br /><br />On all 1&1 Windows Servers with Windows Web Server 2008, the Windows Server Advanced Hosting package is preinstalled. Advanced Hosting includes a package manager that enables users to install comprehensive applications with few mouse clicks. Users can choose from some 50 free available programs like the popular eShop software osCommerce, DotNetNuke and content management systems Drupal and Joomla.<br /><br />1&1 Windows Servers are available in five versions. The entry model is 1&1 Business I with Dual-Core AMD Opteron 1216 Processor, RAID 1, two 250-Gigabyte hard drives and two Gigabytes of RAM for $119.99/month. The top-notch model, 1&1 Titan Server, includes Quad-Core AMD Opteron 2352 Processors, RAID 5, three hard drives and a total of 1,500 Gigabytes of storage space. With 16 Gigabytes of RAM, 1&1 Titan Server is available for $519.99/month.<br />
