1) Self Test Software Practice Test for IBM
Objective: Database Management
SubObjective: Managing data and design replication
Single Answer, Multiple Choice
Which of the following elements can you prevent from replicating to other databases?
A. Role
B. Group
C. Access Control List
D. All of the above
Answer:
C. Access Control List
Tutorial:
The following graphic shows the Advanced panel selected in the Replication Settings dialog box. The items that can be disabled for replication are shown at the bottom of the dialog box. Notice that “Access control list” is an option. The options that are selected are the defaults.
Roles and Groups are not items that can be disabled for replication. Roles are created in a database, but they cannot be specifically disabled from replication. Groups are not design elements, nor do they exist in a database. They are created in the Domino Directory and can be added in the ACL of a database. For example, you may want to create a group called Marketing and you want anyone in that group to have Author access to the Products database. If so, you would add the group “Marketing” to the ACL and assign it Author access. A group is part of the Access Control List in a database.
